 Works great and stays flexible

I first learned about this product through a garden supply house where I purchased a 3-tiered fountain about 5 years ago. The two bottom tiers required caulking to seal them to prevent leaks. The set-up pros use this product as it will go onto a wet surface and seal the leaks between the tiers and also around the opening for the electrical cord. It stays flexible year-round even through winter and summer extremes in temperatures. When the raccoons knock things out of kilter (I live in the country) and create a leak, we simple add more of this product and voila, the leak is no more. The beauty of this product is that it does not become hard and crack, it stays flexible. Tried a similar product recommended by local Home Depot and it dissolves and does not stay in place or repair a leak. I have only used this product in this application, but definitely give it 5 stars!

High performance waterproof silicon

Wow – there are some really bad reviews out there for this product. I’ve used this silicone before (white for kitchen countertop to backsplash caulking) + now just installed this for exterior door trim caulking/waterproofing. Honestly I was worried about setup after reading the negative reviews on another listing for this same product, but in exterior conditions (winter temp ~45 degrees, ~60% humidity) it skinned over in about 90 minutes (longer than the 30 minutes indicated at 70 degrees, but expected given colder temp) and continued setting from there.
Goes on easily, even in large gaps (I was filling in spaces up to 1/2″ width). With just a little bit of mineral spirits covering a plastic spoon, used the spoon to get a nice clean bevel the full length of the trim with no mess. Cleanup of minimal mess with mineral spirits was easy + painless. Rock solid product. Be warned though – there are a lot of negative reviews mentioning that the product never set up – I guess GE is a little loose with their expiration dates — make sure you’ve got at least a year left before product expiration, or you may run into problems. And I can’t imagine having to remove this from an entire installation if it doesn’t set up — that would be a painful, messy job. No problems with this job though + highly recommend this silicone where waterproof sealant is needed – indoors or out.

Worked well on outdoor deck, applied mid November

I purchased GE Silicone clear cartridge to seal the seam between new deck and the house. I applied in mid November at a temperature about 50 degrees. The next morning it was perfectly set, despite some rain during the end of the day when I applied it.
The only glitch: I am not a very handy person, so I am not sure if this is normal or not. When I cut the spout, I had trouble getting the silicone to come out until I broke the seal formed inside of the tube with a small screw driver. The application was easy, the silicone gave me some time to work with it until it set. I found that the gloves were getting in my way, and I used my bare fingers to spread the silicone. I was able to clean up fairly easily with applying rubbing alcohol to my hands after the soap/water round.
