 A Tad on the Expensive Side

I have more than $10,000 of Festool equipment, so I’m obviously a big fan of the brand. This, however, is exorbitant pricing, in my opinion. They work as advertised, but I think you can get some sanding blocks for less money that will do just as good a job. My OCD requires that I get the Festool, so I did, but this one struck me as an expensive choice.

 Great addition if you use a 6″ Festool Sander

I’m a Festool fan. If you use a Festool 6″ sander, these hand sanding blocks are a perfect way to take advantage of the supply of paper you already have. The three shapes give you a block for every need and they are comfortable in your hand. Nice addition with the usual Festool quality.

Expensive… perhaps not?

Here’s how I see it–but I may well be blinded by Festoolian glory:
– I have purchased sanding blocks like “Preppin Weapon” for $20 each.
– This kit contains three blocks (so, a $60 value) AND a minisystainer.
… so I think I can justify the cost there. BUT WAIT: There’s more!
What price can you put on not needing to inventory a whole extra sanding sheet size just for your sanding blocks? Since these sanding blocks use the same paper as my festool sanding machines.. Not needing to store those extra abrasives? Ordering your abrasives in bulk? I think that’s a pretty big benefit…
